Why don't I see ePrescribe in my Dashboard?
ePrescribe is only available to businesses on clinical packages
ePrescribe is rolling out to clinical businesses gradually
You need the Setup ePrescribe permission to set up
An administrator needs to set up ePrescribe
Billing
Is pricing based on calendar year or usage year?
Each prescriber’s annual ID proofing fee is charged at the end of their first month of using the product, and will be charged every subsequent year in that month. Learn more about ePrescribe Pricing
What if I have a provider start using e-scripts in the middle of the month or year? Is pricing prorated, or am I charged the whole month/year?
If you enroll in ePrescribe at any time during the month, you will be charged $45 for that month’s usage and the $65 annual ID Proofing fee per prescriber. No prorating for this feature. Learn more about ePrescribe Pricing
If a prescriber changes locations, how do I update the location where they are billed?
If a prescriber is removed from their setup location, they will be billed at their next-oldest location. There is no other way to adjust the locations where a staff member is billed. Learn more about ePrescribe Pricing
Restrictions & regulations
Is ePrescribe HIPAA and EPCS compliant?
Yes, Boulevard is HIPAA compliant and ePrescribe was audited and approved as adhering to DEA EPCS compliance for controlled substances.
Do you all connect to all 503b compounding pharmacies?
Not directly. Boulevard’s ePrescribe solution can send to virtually all pharmacies on the Surescripts network (retail, mail order, specialty, etc.) and includes compound/specialty medication ordering in its standard features. However, 503B facilities don’t have the same e-prescribing endpoints as retail pharmacies. Instead, compounding prescriptions are often routed through a 503A compounding pharmacy that is connected to Surescripts or through specialized portals (e.g., Blend Scripts) that facilitate compound e-prescribing over the network.
What if I need to ship to my practice for a prescription like numbing cream, on-hand prescriptions (like Acyclovir, Valcyclovir, etc), or IV Nutrients?
ScriptSure (like any e-prescribing platform) is designed to send patient-specific prescriptions to a licensed pharmacy for dispensing. It is not a wholesale purchasing or stock ordering system for items to have on hand at your practice.
What happens if I want to send to a pharmacy outside of the Surescripts network?
ScriptSure works with any pharmacy in the Surescript network (the US’s largest pharmacy network). Any other pharmacy would require manual prescription sending, which is usually done via fax or phone directly by the provider or their assistants.
Integration Functionality
How do I write a prescription in ePrescribe/ScriptSure?
Check out ScriptSure’s support center documentation here.
What is the minimum info required to send a prescription?
In Boulevard, the following patient information is required in order to send a prescription. All can be collected via intake forms; connected form fields will populate the information in Boulevard and send to ScriptSure.
First name
Last name
Date of birth
Sex assigned at birth
Address (must be equal or less than 40 characters)
City
State
Zip
Will you send refill/management alerts?
Boulevard will not receive refill/management alerts at this time, but they are in ScriptSure. You can also set up SMS and Email alerts in ScriptSure to alert you if a prescription needs your attention. You can see the status of prescriptions in the Boulevard client profile.
Do allergy and medication connected form fields flow into ePrescribe for cross-checks when prescribing new medications?
When clients and staff update connected allergy and medication fields, those responses go to the allergy and medications notes fields on the clinical tab. (for non-clinical customers, those responses go to the client notes section of the Overview tab). To ensure allergies and medications are entered for cross-checks in ScriptSure, see this support article.
I’m set up as a prescriber at one location. Why aren’t I seeing a client’s prescriptions at another location?
Each location needs to set up in ePrescribe as a separate practice. Until other locations are set up, you won’t have access to ePrescribe logged in. Once you are set up, though your clients in Boulevard are shared between locations, each client has a unique profile at each location in ScriptSure.
Who sets the favorite medications list? Provider or practice?
The favorite list is set by each provider.
If Boulevard is down, can we access ScriptSure directly?
No, your only access point to ScriptSure is through Boulevard.
What happens to the Clinical tab when a client profile is merged in Boulevard?
The client profile is also merged in ScriptSure. One caveat: Boulevard shares the client across locations, ScriptSure creates unique clients per location. Therefore if you merge the clients in Boulevard, your clients are merged in that location’s ScriptSure account, but other locations in ScriptSure may keep the client separated because to ScriptSure, those are different clients.
Can prescribers set their own recommended dosages?
Yes. ScriptSure allows providers to customize the SIG (dosage instructions), quantity, refill amount, and other fields on the prescription preview screen, and then save that as a custom format linked to a specific medication. That stored format — with the custom dosage — is then available for easy selection any future time that drug is prescribed.
Are there notifications in place when scripts haven't gone through for some reason and need to be addressed?
Yes, there are in-app alerts in ScriptSure, and Admins can enable SMS/Email notifications to send to providers when there are prescriptions in the queue that need attention. (Each provider can control their own notification preferences).
What does "approved" status of prescriptions mean?
Providers can configure their settings to require approval before a prescription is sent — this applies to both new prescriptions and refill responses. When this is enabled, a supporting user (“Assistant”) can queue a prescription, and the provider must then approve it before it goes out.
So "Approved" = the provider has signed off and it has moved through.
What permissions control access to the clinical tab?
• View or edit client clinical details - sex assigned at birth
• View client contact info - birth date
• View client notes - allergy & medication notes
• Must be set up as an ePrescribe user at that location to see ePrescribe medications and allergy information
Migrations/Setup
Can we migrate prescription information from our previous eRx solution?
Only if you are previously using ScriptSure. If you’re using Zenoti, Vagaro, or Aesthetic Record’s integrated prescription solutions, those are also powered by ScriptSure, so it’s possible to migrate your historical prescription info there as well. Reach out to ScriptSure to start that process: support@dawsystems.com.
If you’re not able to migrate historical data, don’t worry! ScriptSure allows you to favorite medications and pharmacies so you can hit the ground running.
I’m using ScriptSure with my previous solution. What happens when I join Boulevard?
ScriptSure offers a migration process to move your existing data into a Boulevard-integrated instance of ScriptSure. Reach out to ScriptSure to initiate that process: support@dawsystems.com
