Boulevardā€™s pre-built, always-on automated campaigns work behind the scenes to boost bookings, improve client retention, and keep revenue steady. They take just minutes to set up, require minimal maintenance, and run in the backgroundā€”automatically sending texts and/or emails to clients most likely to book.

Simply choose which campaigns youā€™d like to turn on, add your custom branding and messaging, and our intelligent algorithms will do the targeting and sending for youā€”taking the guesswork out of marketing automation.


šŸš€ Campaign types

Boulevard offers 5 pre-built campaigns that automatically text and email clients most likely to book. Each campaign comes with built-in targeting, triggers, and content. You can customize the messaging and specific thresholds to fit your brand and campaign goals. To maximize results, use multiple campaigns.

Fill Slow Days

Promote open slots in the coming week and nudge clients to book.

Evaluates schedule availability 7 days ahead, automatically sending texts and emails to clients when a staff memberā€™s availability exceeds a set threshold (e.g., 50%).

Last-Minute Openings

Offer clients first dibs on last-minute openings in the coming few days.

Evaluates availability 2 days ahead, sending texts and emails to clients when availability exceeds a set threshold (e.g, 50%).

Reminder to Book

Remind recent visitors to book their next appointment, X days after their last service.

Sends texts and emails to clients who havenā€™t rebooked for a set number of days after their last visit (0-100 days).

Rescue Lost Clients

Win back inactive clients with a friendly reminder that theyā€™re missed.

Targets clients who havenā€™t returned after a more extended period, sending reminders between 100 days and 15 weeks after their last appointment.

Birthday Message

Send clients birthday wishes on their special day and encourage them to book.

Sends personalized birthday wishes via text and email to encourage clients to book near their birthday. Set your campaign to message clients on: the day of, the day before, or 1-4 weeks before their birthday, based on the date saved in their profile.


šŸ‘„ Privileges

To access the Marketing tab, users must have at least one Marketing Privilege enabled.

Navigate to Manage Business settings > Privilege groups, then enable privileges in the Marketing section.

To send automated campaigns via text, your location must first set up a dedicated phone number.


šŸ’» Automated campaign dashboard

To access the dashboard, navigate to the Automated campaigns tab in Marketing.

If you don't yet have automated campaigns enabled, you can turn them on here.

Once you have one or more automated campaigns enabled, you'll see this dashboard view where you can manage campaign settings and review performance.


āœšŸ¼ Setting up automated campaigns

ā†’ Enable a new campaign, or edit an existing campaign

From your automated campaign dashboard, click Enable in the new campaign you'd like to turn on, or click the three dot menu on the left to edit an active campaign.

ā†’ Customize your campaign settings

Once you click to enable or edit a campaign, you can customize your campaign settings and content for each individual campaign. Within this settings page for each campaign, you can:

ā†’ Set campaign triggers

Determine when the campaign should trigger emails/texts to clients. Each campaign offers a different trigger, or threshold setting, that you can customize. Here are the available campaign triggers within each campaign type:

Fill Slow Days

Fill slow days will email/text clients most likely to book, when a staff member has X% or more calendar availability in the next 7 days. In this example, it would trigger when your calendar availability is 50% or more in the next 7 days.

Last-Minute Openings

Last-minute openings will email/text clients most likely to book, when a staff member has X% or more calendar availability in the next 2 days. In this example, it would trigger when your calendar availability is 50% or more in the next 2 days.

Reminder to book

Reminder to book will email/text clients who haven't rebooked 0-100 days since their last visit, and do not have a future appointment scheduled. In this example, it would send 30 days after each client's last appointment.

Rescue Lost Clients

Rescue lost clients will email/text clients who haven't booked 100-365 days since their last visit, and do not have a future appointment scheduled. In this example, it would send 120 days after each client's last appointment.

Birthday Message

Birthday message will email/text clients who have a birthday saved in their client profile based on your selected trigger. Choose to send:

  • The day of their birthday

  • The day before their birthday

  • 1 week before their birthday

  • 2 weeks before their birthday

  • 4 weeks before their birthday

ā†’ Choose campaign channel: Send by text, email, or both

Choose whether each campaign should be sent through email, text, or both. To maximize campaign reach and respect client communication preferences, select Text and email. A dedicated phone number is required for text.

ā†’ Choose campaign locations

Choose which locations you'd like each campaign to be sent from. While the campaign messages will be sent on behalf of the client's primary location, the location at which the appointment is completed is the location that will be billed $2 for the completed appointment resulting from the campaign.

ā†’ Customize campaign email and text content

Each campaign comes pre-populated with default email and text message content, with language specific to each campaign goal. You can customize the email and text content within each campaign.

To edit the email message, click the Email tab, then click "Edit content".

Here, use the drag and drop email builder to customize the template and messaging, send a test to see how it looks, and save your email template when done.

To edit the text message, click the Text tab, then click "Edit content".

Here, use the text editor to customize verbiage, send a test, and save your text message template. Note that per text marketing law, opt out language and business name may not be removed. By default, automated campaign texts include a booking link through which customers can book their next appointment online.

ā†’ Save and activate your campaign

Once you're finished customizing campaign settings and content, ensure the "Active" toggle is on in the top right, and click save to enable your campaign!

NOTE: When a client responds to an automated campaign, their reply is directed to the email address associated with the location that sent the email.

In your Automated campaign dashboard within the Marketing tab, you can view and manage campaigns and track campaign performance.
