Overview

Boulevard now supports reporting on product units used in a service, otherwise known as “usage-based pricing.” Additionally, reporting is available for product unit credits that are sold in advance of a service that a client may later redeem for product units used during a service – “prepaid product units.”

Usage-Based Pricing Reporting

You will find usage-based pricing reporting in sales reports, including the Detailed Line Item and Service Sales reports. The relevant fields are:

  • Service Product Usage Name: the Product Name of the product unit used. It is available as a column to add to reports as well as a filter within reports. You may group the reporting data itself or group the row or column data using this field.

  • Service Product Usage Quantity: the number of units used during the completed service. It is available as a column to add to reports.

  • Service Product Unit Price: the Product Price of your product unit. This field is available as a column to add to reports.

Prepaid Product Unit Sales Reporting

Prepaid product unit reporting is available in both sales reports, including the Detailed Line Item and Service Sales reports, as well as the beta Payments and Refunds report.

You can run sales reports on new sales of prepaid product units within an order. The relevant fields are:

  • Prepaid Product Name: the Product Name of the prepaid product unit sold. It is available as a column to add to reports as well as a filter within reports. You may group the reporting data itself or group the row or column data using this field.

  • Prepaid Product Quantity Sold: the number of prepaid product units sold. It is available as a column to add to reports.

  • Prepaid Product Sales: the net value of the prepaid units sold. It is available as a column to add to reports.

Prepaid Product Unit Redemption Reporting

You can also run reports on the redemption of prepaid product units. You’ll find redeemed units reported in the Payments & Refunds report. The relevant fields are similar to those in sales reporting:

  • Payment Method - Prepaid Product Units: A new payment method has been added to allow you to report on all payments in which a prepaid product unit was redeemed. You’ll find this as a filter in the Payment Method type as well as when grouping the reporting data or rows by Payment Method.

  • Prepaid Product Name: the Product Name of the prepaid product unit redeemed in the order. It is available as a column to add to the report as well as a filter within the report. You may group the reporting data itself or group the row or column data using this field.

  • Prepaid Product Quantity: the number of prepaid product units redeemed in the order. It is available as a column to add to reports.

  • Net Prepaid Value: the total net sale value of the units redeemed, which would include the discounted or adjusted value of the units at the time of their original sale. Units are redeemed on a first-in, first-out basis.

Additional ID Fields

There have also been useful IDs added to sales reporting that may be helpful for businesses leveraging external databases including:

  • Prepaid Card Client ID: the unique ID of the client who purchased the prepaid product units.

  • Prepaid Card Product ID: the product ID of the product unit sold.
