Overview

In comparison to Summaries, Reports allow for customization and data grouping based on what you need for your business.

If you are new to using Reports, please use the following instructions to access the feature:

  1. Log into your Boulevard dashboard

  2. From the Front Desk screen, click Reports

  3. From Reports, select Reports (if is not already open)

  4. To create a new report, click Add Report + (for example, Detailed Line Item)

With this report template, we now have the ability to customize the columns and report on the data using any measure from the list.

Commonly Used Report Templates

Top Sellers

If you need an understanding of which staff members are best at selling towards the end of the client experience, you can use the below template as a guide. This tracks the sale of products and the seller associated with each sale.

Please note that this is a template. You can add additional metrics that are important for your business. Within the Customize Report window, you can add additional row groupings like Product Category or Sale Date.

  1. Click Add Report+

  2. Search for the Detailed Line Item report and click Add +

  3. Click Customize Report

  4. Change Report Data from Sale Id to Staff Name

  5. In Columns, remove Sale Date, Location Name, Client Name, Staff Name, Service Name, Product Name, Sale Type, Gross Sales, Discount Amount, Refunds, Net Sales, and Sales Tax by clicking the x next to each column name.

  6. Add Net Retail Product Sales, Net Gratuity, Net Gift Card Sales, Net Package Sales, Net New Membership Sales, and Retail Product Count.

  7. Click Edit next to the report name (Detailed Line Item) and rename the report Top Sellers. You also have the option to add a description of the report and assign it to a folder.

NOTE: This list of top sellers only refers to the staff member assigned to the sale of the product. To track the front desk (or another staff member) who closed out the order, use the operator name instead of the staff name.

Top Brands

Depending on your business, you may have a large selection of different retail product brands. To see which brands perform best, you can actually report on all Product Brands and see which have the highest sales, or see which ones tend to come with higher refunds. See below for a template guide we recommend.

As discussed above, we can add additional groupings like Product Name if you want a more detailed breakdown.

  1. Click Add Report+

  2. Search for the Detailed Line Item report and click Add +

  3. Click Customize Report

  4. Change Report Data from Sale Id to Product Brand.

  5. In Columns, remove Sale Date, Location Name, Client Name, Staff Name, Service Name, Product Name, Sale Type, Gross Sales, Discount Amount, Refunds, Net Sales, and Sales Tax by clicking the x next to each column name.

  6. Add Net Retail Product Sales, Refunds, Retail Product Count, Product Sales Tax, and Product Client Count.

  7. Click Edit next to the report name (Detailed Line Item) and rename the report Top Product Brands. You also have the option to add a description of the report and assign it to a folder.

These are just some of the more common reports we recommend. This list does not include every metric or report dimension, but what makes Reports such a powerful feature is customization possibilities. If there are any metrics you’d like added, please feel free to put in a feature request so our Product teams can ensure your ideas are considered in our roadmap.
