Understanding Your Boulevard Bill

Your Boulevard invoice is broken down into several categories. This article walks through each one so you know exactly what to expect.

Accessing and Reviewing Invoices

To access your invoices, navigate to your Manage Location settings and select Billing. Under Payment History, you’ll see a list of invoices, along with the due date, charge date, and amount for each one. Click on an invoice to view or download it to your device.

Under Invoice Details, you’ll see line items for each item included in your Boulevard account. Review the sections below to identify what each line item is referencing:

Location License

Your location license, or subscription plan, is billed separately for each location and serves as the base charge on your invoice. Subscription charges are listed under Location License, followed by the plan tier for that location.

Plan tiers

Boulevard offers tiered plans for Salon & Spa businesses (salons, spas, barbershops, massage, nail) and Medspa businesses:

For Salon & Spa:

  • Essentials — Core tools for small teams with straightforward scheduling and service needs.

  • Premier — Advanced features for growing businesses with more complex booking, staff, and operational requirements.

  • Prestige — Everything in Premier, plus more bundled value for established, high-volume businesses.

  • Enterprise — A fully custom plan for large or multi-location operations.

For Medspa:

  • Aesthetics Starter Bundle — A foundational bundle for aesthetic practices

  • Aesthetics Bundle — A more comprehensive bundle for established aesthetic or medspa businesses

  • Enterprise — A fully custom plan for large or multi-location operations.

Medspa plans are priced as a bundle plan that combines platform tiers with our dedicated Medspa Add-On, which adds industry-specific clinical and compliance tools like HIPAA coverage and advanced charting features. Your invoice will reflect the bundle price rather than individual line items for each included feature.

One-Time Fees

On your first invoice, you may see one-time fees related to the setup and implementation of your new Boulevard account:

  • Guided Setup: fee for account setup and implementation with a dedicated Onboarding Specialist who helps you configure your location(s), service menu, staff accounts, and more.

  • Import Plus OR Data Migration: fee to migrate business data from your previous software to Boulevard, such as client records, service menu, product inventory, future appointments, or other information. Reach out to your Onboarding Specialist if you have questions about what data was included in your migration.

Add-Ons

Add-ons are optional features you can layer onto your plan. They are billed monthly per location and will appear as separate line items on your invoice.

Medspa Add-On

Built for medical spas, this add-on includes unlimited photo markup and supervisor sign-off on forms and charts, plus HIPAA coverage (including a Business Associate Agreement). Learn more about the Medspa Add-On →

Intake Forms

Digitize client intake, consent, and documentation. Forms and Charts are included in the Prestige plan at no extra charge. Learn more about Forms & Charts →

ePrescribe

QuickBooks

Text & Marketing Usage Charges

Usage charges vary each month based on how much you use certain text features. These will appear on your bill alongside your fixed subscription and add-on fees. Learn more about Text and Marketing Usage Rates →

Texts & Two-Way Messaging

Boulevard tracks the total number of text segments sent and received across your location each month. Text usage includes:

  • Two-way Messages conversations

  • Appointment notification texts

  • Automated and Blast campaigns sent via text

Your plan includes a set number of text segments; any usage beyond that falls into a billing tier - review your signed agreement for your specific usage tiers. To check your current usage, go to Messages or Manage Location > Client Notifications and select View Usage.

A few things to know:

  • One standard SMS = 1 text segment (160 characters)

  • Messages with emoji or non-English characters = 1 segment per 70 characters

  • MMS messages (those with an image or GIF) = 3 text segments each

Automated Campaigns

Automated Campaigns send targeted emails or texts to clients who haven't visited in a while, nudging them to rebook. You're only charged when the campaign actually drives results — $2 per completed appointment that is booked within 7 days of a client receiving a campaign message. Any bookings made from the campaign after that 7 day period are not charged.

Email Blasts

Each plan includes a set number of free email blasts per month (500 on Essentials, 1,000 on Premier, 10,000 on Prestige). Beyond your free allotment, email blasts are $0.01 per email sent.

Payment Processing Notice: Boulevard processes all payments through its built-in payment system. Processing fees are assessed on each transaction and will appear in your Payments tab rather than on your monthly platform invoice. Learn more about Payment Processing →
