Audit Log FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Audit Log

Written by Julia Egan

Who can see the Audit Log?

On the day Audit Log launches for your business, only Admins have access. Admins can grant others access to view the Audit Log by enabling the "Audit Logs" permission for the permission group. Audit log is business-wide by default.

Does Audit log show events from all time?

Boulevard began event tracking January 1, 2026 for some actions, May 1, 2026 for others. Any actions taken after those dates will be tracked. Check out the event glossary in the Audit Log article to see when a specific event started being tracked.

Why do I see multiple events generated when I perform a single action?

Any time you perform an action, multiple layers of changes are made. For example, if you update an appointment, you are making changes to the appointment's services, pricing, dates, and also updating the client record.

When I updated a permission group's access, I saw several events get generated with different permissions. What happened?

Permissions are layered. When you grant the ability to "View, edit, & create", you are actually granting access to view, then edit, then create (even though the "View, edit, & create is shown as a singular setting).
