Overview
Time can be blocked off through the Boulevard Dashboard and also using the app. When time is blocked off, clients do not see why time is blocked; they only see that the appointment time is unavailable. Reasons for the time block are only viewable by the business.
Time-blocking is best used to block out short periods of time during the day. If entire days are to be blocked off, it's recommended to make the entire shift Unavailable using the Schedule.
Common uses of time blocks include:
Work breaks such as lunches, meetings, and team events
'Padding' a shift to reduce appointment availability
Optimizing a schedule by forcing non-blocked appointment times to be filled first
NOTE: Must have 'Create Own Appointments' permission setting enabled to set time blocks at an individual location level.
Must have the 'Create All Appointments' permission setting enabled to set time blocks for every Service Provider's schedule.

Integration-created blocks
Calendar Sync
When a time block is created via the personal calendar sync feature, it will only display a “Blocked On” line. A “Blocked By” line will not appear.
Zapier
When a time block is created through the Zapier integration, it will display both a “Blocked By” and “Blocked On” line. The block will be attributed to the staff member whose schedule it appears on and will typically be created within 1–5 minutes of the triggering action being completed.
