Overview

Time can be blocked off through the Boulevard Dashboard and also using the app. When time is blocked off, customers do not see why time is blocked; they only see that the appointment time is unavailable. Reasons for the time block are only ever viewable by the business.

Time-blocking is best used to block out short periods of time during the day. If entire days are to be blocked off, it's recommended to make the entire shift Unavailable using the Schedule. Common uses of time blocks include:

  • Work breaks such as lunches, meetings, and personal events

  • 'Padding' a shift to reduce appointment availability

  • Optimizing a schedule by forcing non-blocked appointment times to be filled first

Creating a New Time Block in the Dashboard

  1. Single-click on the calendar where you'd like to block time.

  2. Select Block Time.

  6. Click Save and the blocked time shows on the Calendar.

NOTES:

  • When adding or adjusting time blocks from the dashboard, you can only add and adjust time blocks from the Calendar View, after the schedule is created from your Mange Location > Scheduling tab.

  • When choosing a Reason for a time block, choosing Personal goes against utilization %, and choosing Business goes toward utilization % in classic reporting.

  • You cannot make a block repeat for longer than 1 year.

  • To edit an existing time block, double-click the block to get to the pop-up window where you can make adjustments.
