A quick overview of what has changed with the new permissions launch

On launch day, you and your staff will not see any significant change in access or visibility.

These changes are rolling out gradually and may not be live for you yet.

New, fine-tuned control over staff access and actions

We’ve broken up our permissions to more than double the number of settings, so you can make sure your staff have access to the actions and information they need, while limiting the most sensitive abilities to those who truly need it.

Some common requests that can now be supported:

  • Allow a franchise owner to adjust pricing at their locations without editing the items on the service and product menus

  • Restrict account credit adjustments, discounting, and loyalty point adjustments to specific roles

  • Restrict membership voucher and term adjustments to specific roles

  • Allow service providers to manage their own schedules without managing the schedules of others

  • Allow a staff member to adjust inventory without granting all manager abilities

Business Manager is no longer a permission.

  • Users with Business Manager permissions on launch daywill be assigned to all locations and granted all granular permissions within the old Business Manager setting to maintain their same level of access

Improved navigation for multi-location businesses

Since the previous business manager and location manager permissions have been broken up into more granular settings, we’ve made it easier to see when you are adjusting settings for a specific location or for the business as a whole. You can now toggle between individual locations and the business settings in the top left menu.

To assign a staff member into a permission group, users must have:

  • All the permissions they need to assign to others enabled for themselves

  • The “Assign Permission Groups” permission enabled

In other words, users cannot assign permissions they don’t have to another user or themselves.

What happens to people with Business Manager permissions when the new granular permissions launch?

Anyone who had Business Manager permissions will be assigned to all locations, and will have all the same access that they had prior to the launch
