Client Loyalty Activity Report |
Overview
The Client Loyalty Activity report helps you get a detailed view of how clients are earning and redeeming loyalty points. It provides an event-level audit trail of every accrual, redemption, and manual adjustment made to a client's loyalty balance.
Use this report to monitor overall loyalty program activity, understand individual client engagement, and analyze redemption behavior by item type. It's especially useful for auditing manual point adjustments and supporting client-facing investigations, since you can filter by client, staff, or activity type to trace exactly why and when a balance changed.
Note: Balance Points and Balance Value reflect a client's balance immediately after each individual event — they aren't a current outstanding balance, and they'll appear blank if you group by anything other than the individual activity row. To see a client's current balance, filter to their most recent activity event; this report isn't designed to show outstanding liability across all clients. See the Report Caveats section below for more.

Report Caveats
There are a few important caveats and limitations to be aware of when using this report. Use these details to better understand how the data behaves and how to interpret it correctly.
Caveats | Details and Impact |
Balance Points and Balance Value reflect the client's balance immediately after each event — they are not a current outstanding balance | Balance Points and Balance Value capture the client's loyalty point balance at the exact moment each activity event was recorded — immediately after the accrual, redemption, or manual update occurred. These fields are a point-in-time snapshot tied to each row, not a summary of the client's current outstanding balance. To see a client's current balance, filter to their most recent activity event rather than summing across rows. |
Balance Points and Balance Value will not aggregate correctly when grouping above the individual activity row level | Because Balance Points and Balance Value represent the balance immediately after a single event, they have no meaningful interpretation when aggregated across multiple rows. If the report is grouped by client, location, date, or any dimension other than the individual Loyalty Activity ID, these fields will return blank — they are intentionally suppressed at any grain other than the single activity row. This is expected behavior, not a data error. Use the Points and Value fields instead for aggregated totals of points earned or redeemed. |
Item Name combines both accrual and redemption items into a single column | The Item Name field surfaces the item associated with the loyalty activity regardless of whether the activity was an accrual or a redemption. For accruals, this is the item that generated the points earned. For redemptions, this is the item against which the points were applied. Both activity types use the same column — Item Name does not distinguish between "earned from" and "redeemed on." Use Activity Type alongside Item Name to understand the direction of the points activity for each row. |
This report does not have a dedicated outstanding loyalty liability view — use it for activity history only | This report is an event-level audit trail of all loyalty activity. It is not designed to show current outstanding loyalty point balances across all clients. If the goal is to see total loyalty liability outstanding as of today, this report requires manual aggregation by client across all time. |
