Boulevard automates a lot of workflows, however to optimize the experience for both Clients and Staff, these tasks can and should be done on a daily basis.
- Correct capitalization of customer names. "JANE SMITH" or "jane smith" should be changed to "Jane Smith". This is important because Boulevard uses the exact appearance of names in client profiles in it's communication with clients.
- Look for duplicate client profiles. Boulevard uses email addresses as the source of truth for client profiles. This means that if a client self-books with a different email address, or one that wasn't previously on file, a new client profile will be created and they will be shown as a new client with a star icon on their appointment. In the Clients section, search using an email address and/or phone number to see if they in fact have been in before. If so, the client profiles will need to be merged, ideally keeping the contact information from the most recent booking. See the article Merging Client Profiles.
- Look for un-merged appointments. If a customer self-books an appointment, and then separately books another appointment, their appointments will not automatically be merged. Instead, two separate, unlinked appointments will appear. See the article Merging Multiple Appointments.
- Ensure that all past appointments have been completed or deleted. We recommend using the Front Desk view to look at prior day(s) to quickly see what needs to be either deleted or completed. See the articles Appointment Checkout and Orders and Closeout.
