Professional App: Use and Features

Overview of Boulevard's Professional App features.

The Boulevard Professional App is available in the Apple App Store for iPhone and Google Play for Android. The app allows service providers to quickly view and edit appointments and client contact information on the go. Boulevard Professional is designed to complement, not replace, the main Boulevard desktop version. All changes or additions done on the app will instantly be updated on the main Boulevard dashboard.

NOTE: The images and instructions below are for the iPhone app, which is very similar to the experience on Android. Images for Android can be found at the end of this article.



Individual settings are accessed by the settings logo at the bottom right of the screen. Available settings include:

  1. Location - Toggle between locations (if applicable).

  2. Notifications - Enable personal notifications (Email, Text message, and Push notification) for the following:

    • New online booking

    • New front desk booking

    • Client arrival

    • Client cancellation

  3. Service Menu - Customize individual services.

  4. Calendar - Customize how the calendar is displayed, with options including:

    • Show transition time

    • Show processing time

    • Normal view

    • Larger view

Viewing Appointments

Schedule Viewing: Calendars can be viewed with an Agenda view, One day at a time, or Three days at a time. To toggle between views, and choose which staff schedules to see, tap the 3-line icon in the top left and then tap to select your desired view and staff member(s). Available filters include:

  • Me - only my appointments

  • All Staff - all staff at the location

  • Show All - all staff assigned to that staff role


Editing Appointments

  1. Tap any appointment to open up its specific details.

  2. Tap Edit.

  3. Tap on whatever you would like to change.

  4. Make the change and then tap the back arrow <.

  5. Tap Save to lock in the changes.


Adding Appointments

To add a new appointment:

  1. Tap and hold on to the screen, then click New Appointment.

  2. Or click the + icon at the top right, then New Appointment.

  3. Select the client and enter the appointment details.

  4. Click Save when finished to complete the appointment creation.


Adding Time Blocks

  1. Tap and hold on the screen OR click the + icon at the top right of the screen.

  2. Click Block time.

  3. Add a reason for the time block (recommended).

  4. Choose the start date, time, and duration.

  5. Click Save to add the time blocker.


Editing and Removing Time Blocks

  1. Find and tap the time block.

  2. Click Edit.

  3. Adjust the date, time, or duration and click Save.

  4. Or click Remove Blocked Time to completely delete it.


Client Profiles

Within the Boulevard Professional App, you can view and update client contact information, and also easily call, text, or email clients. You can also take a photo and upload it directly into the Client Profile (to add a photo in notes, you must enter text into the text box first before the box will pop up to "attach image" to that note). Click the profile icon at the bottom middle of the screen to begin searching for and selecting a client. Important: SMS text messages and emails that are sent through the app show as being sent from the personal mobile number and personal email of the sender.

Use of the Boulevard Professional App on Android follows the same general instructions as above. Please reference the images below to show the experience on an Android device.










Staff Performance Metrics

If given access (via privilege group settings), your employees are able to see an overview of their performance for any given date range by clicking the graph icon at the bottom of the screen.

The totals shown in this area are total, gross, and sales (so the numbers are not taking the staff members' commission into account in this data). They can see their total appointments, clients, utilization, prebooked %, and service/product/gratuity sales.

These metrics refresh at the same frequency that beta reports refresh (currently not instant, but every ~2 hours).
